Jupinderjit Singh
Jupinderjit Singh is an award-winning journalist, writer and
author based in Chandigarh.
This is his fourth book.
The first - Justice for Jassi - co-authored with Canadian
journalist Fabian Dawson was based on a real-life honour-
killing of a Canadian born Indian girl, Jassi, who married a local
lad Mithu against the wishes of her family.
The second book – Years later... on Facebook – is an anthology
of his short-stories and middles based on true experiences as a
Journalist in Punjab, Rajasthan, and Jammu & Kashmir.
He shot to international fame by discovering the lost pistol
of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. In his fight for India’s freedom, the
martyr had used the weapon in killing a British Police Officer
in 1928. His book- Discovery of Bhagat Singh’s Pistol and his
Ahimsa- was based on his journey in tracing the pistol.
He has also contributed two chapters-Crime Reporting and
The Art of writing Middles- in an upcoming book on Journalism
titled ‘Beat Reporting’.

He is a recipient of Prem Bhatia Young Journalist Award for his
stories and research on the “Changing Demography of Punjab
vis-à-vis the inflow of migrants from Eastern and Central states
to Punjab and outflow of Punjabis to western countries”.
He is a fellow with the Centre for Science and Environment
(CSE) on Forest Rights for the Tribals in Jammu and Kashmir.
He is a FIDE-rated chess player and coach, motivational
speaker, and an amateur pianist.
